Early this month the nation voted for their candidate of choice in record numbers. When it was finished…well, it really wasn’t. Seems that there were some vote count issues, which really makes no sense at all in our day and age, especially for a “First-World Country,” with the technology we have.
So what gives? What seems to be the problem? I mean, beside the fact that our favorite form of math across the country is division. Yes, you heard me right…division. America is more divided now than it has ever been before, at least in my short lifetime of sixteen years. I do wonder why, or do I?
There are many fingers being pointed by both sides at each other and frankly, they are all correct…and all very wrong. At least in my view, anyway. My father taught my brothers and I that we were always one Nation under God. So what happened?
I have my viewpoint on the whole matter; however, I am not going to share it. Why bother? Half of the readers will agree with me and the other half will be angry with me. So, I’ll leave you all guessing…hee, hee, hah, hah.
I will share what I believe the problem…and the solution is though, even if it is viewed negatively. I’m still entitled to my opinion…since I am an American.
The Problem (Simply stated)
Matthew 12:25- “Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.”
Romans 16:17- “I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them.”
The Solution (Bottom Line)
Ephesians 1: 3-10- “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight.
In love 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship (and daughtership) through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will--
6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace
8 that he lavished on us. With all wisdom and understanding,
9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,
10 to be put into effect when the times reach their fulfillment—to bring UNITY to all things in heaven and on earth under Christ.”
Well, I believe this anyway, and besides, even if you don’t, why would you get mad at me for expressing my opinion?
